Start a chapter

Start a chapter at your school or in your town.

A chapter is a group of students who meet and help each other reach local professionals and start real projects. You can start one at your school or with a group in your community, and it’s free.

Who can start a chapter?

  • High school students
  • Middle school students who are 13 or older, with an adult helping
  • Clubs already at your school, like a science or service club
  • Community youth groups, like a 4‑H club, scout troop or library teen group
  • Teen volunteer groups

We especially want chapters where students don’t have connections to the people and groups working on problems in their town.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 founding members, ages 13 to 18
  • One lead who runs meetings and is our main contact
  • One adult sponsor, like a teacher or your group’s leader
  • Two meetings a month, with at least one event out in the community
  • A short check-in emailed to us once a month
  • Agreeing to follow our safety rules
