Help students reach you the right way.
thirdauthor is a free, student-led organization that connects teens with local professionals who suggest small projects to help their communities. We interview professors and local professionals so students hear it from the people they’ll be reaching out to. Each interview is a 30-minute recorded video call.
How recordings are used
- We only record with your written permission.
- We post short clips on Instagram and a written summary on this site.
- You see and approve everything before it’s posted.
- If you ask us to take anything down, it comes down the same day.
- An interview is not an endorsement, and we never present it as one.
- We never ask for a research spot in an interview request.
Students who email you
Students in the program agree to the same rules. They name one specific paper of yours, keep it under 150 words with one ask, and send at most one follow-up. A no is final, and they’re honest about their age, skills and time.
If a student breaks these rules, please tell us.
